OEE Calculator

Calculate Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) using Availability, Performance, and Quality.

The Math

OEE is the gold standard for measuring manufacturing productivity. It is calculated by multiplying three factors:

  • Availability: Operating Time / Planned Production Time
  • Performance: (Ideal Cycle Time × Total Count) / Operating Time
  • Quality: Good Count / Total Count
OEE = Availability × Performance × Quality

Example Calculation

If you plan to run for 480 mins, but have 60 mins of downtime, your operating time is 420 mins. Availability is 420/480 = 87.5%.

If the ideal cycle time is 1.5 mins, and you made 250 parts, your net operating time is 375 mins. Performance is 375/420 = 89.2%.

If 240 of those parts are good, your Quality is 240/250 = 96.0%.

OEE = 87.5% × 89.2% × 96.0% = 74.9%
